Overview

Students will review and practice adding fractions with unlike denominators.

    In this activity, a spreadsheet in the CelSheet App allows students to create an equivalent fraction. They are asked to change pairs of fractions, so that they have a common denominator.

    Students will do this for pairs of fractions where the common denominator is a product of the two denominators and then again for pairs of fractions where the common denominator is not the product.

    Students will then use what they have learned about finding a common denominator to add and subtract fractions. They will repeat the necessary steps to create fractions with the same denominator and then complete the addition or subtraction problem on the worksheet.
