TI Connect™ CE
Students create and explore a box plot and histogram for a data set. They then compare the two data displays by viewing them together and use the comparison to draw conclusions about the data.
Students will analyze the distances a person drove on 30 weekends will different graphical representations. They will use the given WKND list or create a list titled WKND and enter the distances given on the worksheet.
Students will then create a box plot from the data given in the WKND list and analyze the different sections of the plot to determine where the mean falls relative to the median.
In the second part of the activity, students use the same data to create a histogram.
