Solution 12980: Inability to Access the Memory Menu on the TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus Family of Graphing Calculators.

How can I access a disabled MEMORY menu on the TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus family of graphing calculators?

If you are unable to access the MEMORY menu of the graphing calculator by pressing [2nd] [MEM], it is most likely due to the presence of a certain type of shell application or operating system (OS) programmed to override or alter the calculator's original OS. This type of software is developed by third parties outside of Texas Instruments and is not recommended to be installed. Therefore, Texas Instruments is unable to provide support or technical assistance for such software.

There may be some way to re-enable the MEMORY menu by going into the shell application itself and changing a setting. However, if you're unable to do this, then any third-party software or OS will need to be uninstalled and deleted from the graphing calculator's memory in order to regain accessibility of the MEMORY menu.  Since the MEMORY menu is disabled, the only way to delete apps off the calculator is to use TI-Connect. Please follow the instructions in Solution 34536 on how to delete apps off the calculator using TI-Connect.

Please see the TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus Family guidebooks for additional information.
